Privacy
Last updated 15 October 2026.
Browsing this site records nothing about you. If you send us a message, it reaches our mailbox and we keep it for 12 months after the conversation ends. The details, and your rights, are below.
Who we are
VOLTASERVICES LTD runs voltacloud.co.uk and is the controller of the personal data this notice describes. Registered in England and Wales, company number 16178827. Registered office: Elizabeth Suite, 3rd Floor, 207 Regent Street, London W1B 3HH. Registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), registration number ZB874097.
For anything about your personal data, email privacy@voltaservices.uk. For questions about VoltaDNS, VoltaEdge or this site, email support@voltaservices.uk.
Browsing this site
Browsing records nothing about you. The site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other companies: the fonts, the scripts and the spam check all come from voltacloud.co.uk.
The web server keeps no access log. Its error log is limited to critical faults in the server itself, so the routine entries that would name a visitor, such as a refused or oversized request, are never written.
The live status on the home page is about our servers: whether they answer, how fast, and how many DNS queries they answered. It holds nothing about visitors.
If you pick light or dark, your browser remembers it (local storage, key voltacloud.theme). It never leaves your device.
The contact form
When you send a message, we receive your name, email address, company (if you give one), topic and message. They go over an encrypted connection to our support mailbox, support@voltaservices.uk, so we can reply. The website itself keeps no copy.
Before sending, your browser solves a small puzzle (ALTCHA) that makes sending spam slow. It carries nothing about you. A hidden field that people never see catches bots that fill in every field.
To stop floods of messages, the website counts the messages sent from each network address (an IPv4 address, or an IPv6 /64 block). The count is kept in memory only: an address is forgotten one hour after its last message, and it is never written to disk or to a log. The web server in front of the site (nginx) also keeps a short-term count of requests to the form per address, in memory only, never on disk or in a log.
You do not have to use the form: you can email support@voltaservices.uk instead. We need an email address to reply.
Why we use it
- Answering your message: our legitimate interest in replying to people who write to us (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Where you ask about using our services, it is also a step you have asked us to take before a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).
- The spam check and the message counts: our legitimate interest in keeping the form working and free of abuse (Article 6(1)(f)).
We do not use your message for marketing, and we make no automated decisions about you.
How long we keep it
We keep contact messages, and our replies, for 12 months after the conversation ends, then delete them. The website's message counts last an hour at most; the web server's own counts stay in memory only until they are replaced or it restarts.
Where it is held, and who receives it
The website runs on our server in Portsmouth, UK, rented from Contabo. Messages are delivered to our mailbox on mail.voltamail.uk, our own mail server, on a machine rented from Hetzner Online in Germany. Germany is in the EU, and the UK's adequacy regulations for the EU and EEA cover personal data sent there.
Contabo and Hetzner provide the machines; we run everything on them. Nobody else receives your data, and we never sell it.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you (access)
- correct it if it is wrong (rectification)
- delete it (erasure)
- limit how we use it while a question about it is settled (restriction)
- stop using it, where we rely on our legitimate interests (objection)
- give it to you in a common machine-readable format, where you wrote to us about using our services (portability)
Email privacy@voltaservices.uk. It is free, we reply within one month, and we may ask you to confirm who you are first.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, tell us at privacy@voltaservices.uk and we will try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or 0303 123 1113.
VoltaDNS
This notice covers the website. VoltaDNS itself keeps DNS query logs for 30 days, on servers we run in the UK and Germany; people with a VoltaDNS account get its own privacy details.
